CIDG seizes ₱1.1M unregistered cooking oil in Tarlac City bust

Authorities from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) confiscated more than ₱1.1 million worth of allegedly unregistered cooking oil during the implementation of a search warrant at a warehouse in Barangay San Rafael, Tarlac City on February 13, 2026.

In a report to CIDG Director Robert AA Morico II, authorities said the operation, conducted with territorial police units, led to the seizure of 779 containers and bottles of assorted cooking oil products valued at ₱1,152,492. The alleged warehouse owner, identified only as “Gracia,” was not present during the operation.

The products were reportedly not registered with the Food and Drug Administration (Philippines), a violation of Republic Act 9711 or the FDA Act of 2009. Officials warned that unregistered food products have not undergone safety and quality evaluation and may pose health risks to consumers.

The intensified operation supports the campaign of the Philippine National Police under PNP Chief Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr.

CIDG leadership also commended Grant A Gollod and the CIDG Tarlac Provincial Field Unit led by Arvin E Hosmillo for the successful operation, noting it helped prevent potential health and safety risks to the public.
