CLTV36 FLAGS ‘PAMPANGA REAL NEWS’ FOR MISREPRESENTATION

CLTV36 has issued an official statement condemning the alleged fraudulent use of its branding by the Facebook page “Pampanga Real News,” warning the public about the spread of fabricated content using the network’s identity.

In a statement, the regional television station said the page circulated a fabricated meme containing a fake quotation attributed to a political figure in City of San Fernando. The network clarified that it had no involvement in the creation, publication, or distribution of the said content.

CLTV36 described the unauthorized use of its corporate logo and news templates as a misappropriation of intellectual property, saying the act attempts to present disinformation under the appearance of legitimate journalism.

The station also stressed that mimicking its broadcast design and branding not only targets a political individual but also undermines the credibility and trust that audiences in Central Luzon have placed in the network over the years.

CLTV36 reiterated its commitment to ethical journalism, emphasizing that it does not engage in smear campaigns and adheres to the professional standards of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas.

The network urged the public to remain vigilant and verify information, noting that official news from the station is released only through its verified social media pages and official website.

According to CLTV36, it is currently coordinating with legal counsel to document the alleged digital violations and is preparing to file reports with the Department of Information and Communications Technology and the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group.

The station also called on the public to report the “Pampanga Real News” page for misrepresentation and the spread of fake news in order to prevent further deception online.
