Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is set to launch his Free Casket Program on September 1, 2025, for indigent families in Angeles City, Mabalacat City, and Magalang.
Lazatin earlier announced that he will donate two months of his salary to fund the program, which is being implemented in partnership with Pangilinan Funeral Homes. Owner Philip Pangilinan Samson has already inspected the caskets to be distributed under the initiative.

Eligible families of deceased indigent residents may avail of the program by submitting the required documents—including a death certificate, funeral contract, certificate of indigency, and valid IDs—at Lazatin’s district office. A dedicated social worker will then assess their application before issuing a referral letter to Pangilinan Funeral Homes.
The initiative continues the free casket program Lazatin first introduced during his term as Mayor of Angeles City, expanding its reach to more communities in the First District.
