The Pampanga Provincial Government, led by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, distributed dietary supplement packs to pregnant women and mothers with infants aged six to twenty-three months in San Agustin, Guagua, on Wednesday, Oct 4.

Through the Provincial Nutrition Committee, hundreds of residents in the province became beneficiaries of the “First 1,000 Days” program, as mandated by Republic Act 11148, also known as the Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act.

On behalf of Governor Delta, Board Members Fritzie David Dizon, Sajid Eusoof and Guagua Mayor Anthony Joseph Torres distributed the assistance to the beneficiaries.

The program’s primary goal is to ensure the well-being of mothers and their children during their crucial developmental years to combat malnutrition in the province.

Madonna Yumul, one of the beneficiaries, expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am about to give birth to my third child, and this program is highly beneficial for us mothers and our babies. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Governor Delta for supporting our maternal health.”

The provincial government will also distribute the same assistance to other municipalities in the coming days.

The first 1,000 days refer to a child’s life from the moment they are conceived until they reach two years of age (24 months). This critical period is characterized by substantial growth and development in the child’s brain, body, and immune system.
