Capitol to open solar-powered Sinukwan Purified Water Facility in Arayat

The Provincial Government of Pampanga is set to open the Sinukwan Purified Water facility, a solar-powered water refilling station in Barangay San Juan Baño, Arayat, sourcing water directly from the natural springs of Mount Arayat.

The project was initiated under the leadership of Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda, who commissioned the installation of a modern filtration system to provide safe and affordable drinking water to local communities.

Governor Pineda inspected the facility on March 4 and personally sampled the purified water, which undergoes a comprehensive Reverse Osmosis process, to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards prior to full operations.

The facility runs entirely on solar energy, allowing continuous operation even without a direct power supply. Water from Mount Arayat passes through a three-stage filtration system, including Reverse Osmosis and ultraviolet (UV) light sterilization, to ensure it is clean and potable. Once fully operational, the station is expected to produce more than 5,000 bottles of purified water daily.

The provincial government plans to distribute bottled water to students in Arayat to help reduce expenses on commercial mineral water and to supply purified water to district hospitals across Pampanga to support healthcare services.

Arayat Mayor Jeff Luriz welcomed the initiative, noting that the area’s abundant spring water is now being maximized through modern purification technology for the benefit of residents.

Provincial officials said the project supports sustainable development and public health goals under the “Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Program,” while harnessing natural resources to serve communities across Pampanga.
