Cebu Pacific partners with DMW and ACAC to build OFW Processing Center at Mactan-Cebu International Airport

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, has entered into a partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation (ACAC) to establish an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Processing Center at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) Terminal 2.

The new facility aims to streamline the processing of key travel documents, including Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs), for departing and returning OFWs at MCIA. Construction of the center is set to begin in March, with operations expected to launch by the end of the second quarter of 2025.

“We deeply appreciate the significant contributions of OFWs to our economy and are committed to enhancing their travel experience,” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer. “This partnership is part of our ongoing effort to make air travel more convenient and responsive to the needs of our overseas Filipino workers.”

The DMW has voiced its full support for the project, emphasizing its dedication to providing OFWs with accessible and efficient services.

“This initiative is not just about building a facility but also about showing our gratitude for the sacrifices made by OFWs,” said DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac. “The OFW Processing Center will offer a one-stop service hub where workers and their families can receive essential services, as well as comfort and guidance, ensuring VIP treatment.”

Cebu has long been a key gateway for Filipinos seeking work abroad, and the new processing center aligns with Cebu Pacific’s mission to go beyond affordable flights by actively supporting OFWs.

Looking ahead, Cebu Pacific will continue collaborating with government and private partners to improve services for OFWs, solidifying its role as a trusted airline partner for the Filipino migrant workforce.
