Regional government agencies based at the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center (DMGC) came together to reaffirm their commitment to protecting women and children from violence through a solidarity parade, advocacy banner display, and recognition of outstanding initiatives.
The event featured a unified march within the DMGC, symbolizing shared responsibility in promoting safe spaces and combating abuse. DMGC Chairperson and Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Director William Beltran emphasized in his opening remarks that violence in any form should never be tolerated or normalized.

“Lack of awareness about the different forms and realities of abuse remains a major barrier to addressing violence against women and children,” Beltran said. “As a community and as concerned citizens, we should always stand for actions that protect our people, especially women and children. Let us work together to build a community where everyone is safe, valued, and free from harm.”
A key highlight of the activity was the advocacy banner display, which allowed agencies to convey strong messages on gender equality, abuse prevention, and the importance of collective action in addressing VAWC.
The Bureau of Fire Protection received the Creativity Award for its artistic banner design, while the Department of Economy, Planning and Development earned the Impact Award for delivering a message that left a lasting impression. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) was named winner of the Best and Unique Banner Award** for its exceptional creativity and originality.
DOST Assistant Regional Director Belen Garcia shared that their banner was designed to promote awareness and prevention of violence. “Gusto naming ipromote na ‘yung mga kababaihan at kabataan ay palaging dapat proteksyunan. Dapat meron tayong gender equality. At lahat ng mga naaabuso ay dapat tulungan at ireport sa proper authority,” she said.
The activity concluded with participants taking a collective commitment pledge to oppose violence, protect women and children, speak out against abuse, and work together toward a safe and just community.
The event highlighted the continuing dedication of DMGC-based agencies to strengthen coordination, raise public awareness, and reinforce protective mechanisms against VAWC beyond a single campaign period.
