The stage is set for the United Central Luzon Athletic Association (UCLAA) basketball league where 12 teams from the country’s leading regional pool of players will vie in preparation for its 10th season next year.
Set this October 24 to 27 at the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) and Mini Convention Center, UCLAA will pit teams from Holy Angel University, Angeles University Foundation, Systems Plus College Foundation, DHVSU and others.
UCLAA Chairman Gil Cortez said that the league serves as another training ground for basketball players where they could be discovered by talent scouts and managers.
Cortez, named the PBA’s very first Rookie of the Year in 1978, said that pursuing this program will “continue to help develop our country’s pool of potential national players.”
UCLAA is sanctioned by the Samahan ng Basketball ng Pilipinas which has developed the Gilas program that led to the capture of FIBA Asia Gold medal for the Philippines last year. It is also endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The league is sponsored by the Laus Group of Companies, SMART Communications, MVP Sports Foundation, Balibago Waterworks Systems Inc. and Balipure Purified Drinking Water.
