Central Luzon cops honored for heroic BARMM election duty

The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) held a “Heroes’ Welcome” ceremony to honor 197 police officers from Central Luzon who were deployed to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) during the Parliamentary Elections held on May 12, 2025.

Returning from various provinces in Region III, the officers were awarded the Medalya ng Kadakilaan (PNP Heroism Medal) in recognition of their courage, excellence, and integrity while serving in high-risk areas in BARMM.

PRO3 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jean S. Fajardo led the awarding ceremony, emphasizing that the medals symbolize the officers’ sacrifice and bravery in upholding peace and order under challenging circumstances.

“This recognition is a tribute to your bravery, compassion, and unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and protecting democracy. It proves that Central Luzon cops are dependable, courageous, and committed to their sworn duty,” PBGEN Fajardo said.

The awardees came from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, Provincial and City Mobile Forces, and various PRO3 units. They were assigned to secure voting centers, conduct checkpoints, and ensure the smooth and safe conduct of elections in critical areas of BARMM.

Following the awarding, a traditional boodle fight was held to celebrate camaraderie, gratitude, and solidarity among the returning officers.

The Heroes’ Welcome served as a powerful reminder of the essential role police officers play as unsung heroes—guardians of democracy and faithful public servants behind peaceful and successful elections.
