Clark to host Sports Tourism Forum

Charles Lim, President and CEO of Sports Turismo Alliance, Inc., announced that Clark Freeport will be the venue for the Sports Tourism Forum on November 7, 2025 at the SMX Convention Center Clark, reinforcing the area’s status as a premier sports destination in the country.

The one-day forum, organized by Sports Turismo Alliance with support from the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Department of Tourism (DOT), Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), SMX Clark, and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), will bring together stakeholders from sports associations, local governments, hotels and resorts, event organizers, facility managers, and corporate sponsors nationwide.

Lim emphasized that the event supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call to make sports a catalyst for tourism growth. He noted that major global events hosted in the Philippines — such as the 2023 FIBA World Cup, FIVB World Championship, and the upcoming FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup — prove the country’s capability as a world-class sports hub.

A distinguished panel of international and local experts will headline the forum, led by Igor Topole, President of the International Children’s Games. Discussions will cover maximizing and sustaining sports facilities, elevating grassroots tournaments to international status, and measuring the broader economic, cultural, and social impact of sports tourism.

CDC will also host a cultural dinner as part of the closing program, highlighted by the launch of Happening On The Green.
