Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on November 15, 2025 expressed full support for the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s (INC) call for greater transparency in government.
“Dalangin ko at ng aking buong pamilya at tanggapan ang mapayapang pagsasagawa ng three-day grand socializing ng mga kaanib sa Iglesia ni Cristo para sa transparency for better democracy,” Lazatin said in an official statement.

The INC will hold a three-day assembly from November 16 to 18, 2025 at the Quirino Grandstand to call for transparency and better democratic governance.
“Sama-sama nating ipanalangin na mawakasan na ang korapsyon para sa kapakanan ng bawat mamamayang Pilipino,” Lazatin added.
Lazatin was among the first members of the House of Representatives to publicly release their Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) on September 26.
“Public office is a public trust. With the recent issues on anomalous infrastructure projects, we have seen an erosion of the public’s confidence in our officials and institutions. The public disclosure of government officials’ SALN is one small step to slowly rebuild trust and confidence,” he said.
Earlier, on September 5, Lazatin also submitted his official declaration stating that he has no business, financial, or pecuniary interests that may directly or indirectly affect the ongoing joint inquiry of the House Committee on Public Accounts, Committee on Public Works and Highways, and Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability. The submission was in accordance with Article VI, Section 12 of the Constitution and Rule IX, Section 33 of the Rules of the House of Representatives.
During his tenure as Angeles City Mayor, Lazatin received recognition from the Anti-Corruption Civil Movement General Federation during the UN International Anti-Corruption Day in South Korea. The award, conferred by the UN International Anti-Corruption Day Organizing Committee, recognized his efforts and integrity in promoting anti-corruption initiatives.
