Converge, a leading fiber broadband and technology provider, has formed strategic partnerships with Starlink and Ribbon Communications, Inc. to enhance connectivity and expand its reach across the Philippines.
Sherie Ng, Converge’s managing director for Singapore, highlighted the connectivity challenges faced by many enterprises during an announcement in Taguig City on Tuesday.
According to Converge CEO Dennis Uy, these partnerships are aimed at empowering communities, improving access in remote areas, and serving industries such as construction, mining, and hospitality.
Through its collaboration with Starlink, Converge will provide low-latency satellite internet solutions to businesses and government agencies nationwide. Uy noted that Converge is now authorized to resell Starlink’s services, which will enable industries in even the most remote regions to stay connected.
Ng emphasized that the integration of Starlink into Converge’s offerings would address the needs of businesses in underserved areas, where unreliable internet has been a persistent issue. “By incorporating Starlink into our products, we’re creating opportunities for these industries and the Filipinos who depend on them,” Ng said.
Both executives also pointed out that the Starlink partnership offers redundancy solutions, providing businesses with secondary backup connectivity.
Starlink’s satellite internet delivers broadband speeds of up to 200 Mbps, providing reliable service even in remote locations.
In addition to the Starlink collaboration, Converge has partnered with Ribbon to further enhance its network infrastructure. The company will use Ribbon’s Muse Multilayer Automation Platform (MAP) and AI technologies to optimize the performance of its optical network.
Uy explained that the integration of these technologies is crucial for managing large volumes of data from cloud services and IoT solutions. The partnership ensures that Converge’s fiber network is future-ready, offering next-generation services including enterprise solutions and cloud applications.
