Converge shares Christmas Cheer, donates desktop computers to Pampanga orphanage

Leading fiber broadband and technology provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. spread holiday cheer by donating three desktop computers to the Children’s Home of Eucharistic Love and Kindness (CHELK), a Pampanga-based orphanage that provides care and education to orphaned, abandoned, and abused girls.

The donation coincided with Converge’s annual Christmas outreach activity under Project Lingap, a volunteer-driven initiative of its employees aimed at extending malasakit beyond the workplace. Pampanga-based Converge employees visited the orphanage to host a Christmas party, facilitate games, and distribute gifts and prizes to the children.

“Guided by malasakit and a commitment to using technology for good, Converge strives to make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. This Christmas, we continue that mission by giving and sharing, spreading hope, and making a positive difference to help nurture and equip the next generation,” said Jay-Anne Encarnado, Converge Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations.

Converge First Vice President and Head of Network Technology Group Jeff Briones, who led the activity, said the initiative reflects the company’s culture of compassion and service. “This is the fourth year we are doing this, and we are happy to share our time and create joyful moments with these children. For us, this is a wonderful way of ending the year—through generosity and compassion,” he said.

The company’s return to CHELK builds on its long-standing support for the foundation. In 2021, Converge first partnered with the orphanage through a Christmas gift-giving activity and donations for its permanent shelter. In February 2022, in celebration of Safer Internet Month, the company also donated learning tablets and provided internet connectivity to support the children’s online learning.

Established more than 30 years ago, CHELK has been providing shelter, education, and care to young girls in Pampanga. At present, the orphanage supports around 20 children.

Through initiatives like Project Lingap, Converge continues to reaffirm its commitment to community development, using technology and volunteerism to make a positive and lasting impact, especially during the holiday season.
