How to prevent Leptospirosis:
✔ Avoid wading or swimming in floodwaters or dirty water
✔ Wear boots and gloves if exposure to contaminated water is unavoidable
✔ Wash with clean water and soap after contact with dirty or flood water
✔ Dispose of garbage properly
✔ Keep your home and surroundings clean
✔ Ensure drinking water is safe and clean

Symptoms of Leptospirosis:

  • Persistent fever
  • Muscle and body pain
  • Chills
  • Headache
  • Diarrhea
  • Skin rashes
  • Yellowing of the skin (jaundice)
  • Redness of the eyes

⚠ Seek medical attention at the nearest health facility if fever lasts for two or more days.
