The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has warned the public and its partner agencies against individuals falsely claiming to be DOTr officials and making unauthorized calls.

Based on reports received, a fraudulent caller using the mobile number +639675241412 has been posing as DOTr Undersecretary Ramon Reyes and contacting Regional Directors of the Land Transportation Office to solicit online banking details.

The DOTr stressed that its officials, including undersecretaries, as well as its employees, will never ask for personal or online banking information under any circumstances. The public is strongly advised not to disclose any sensitive information over the phone.

The agency reiterated that all official communications from the DOTr and its officials are issued only through its verified channels.

The public is urged to remain vigilant and to immediately report similar incidents to the DOTr commuter hotline at 0920-964-3687.
