DOTr GIVES BUS FIRMS 60 DAYS TO UPGRADE TERMINALS

The Department of Transportation (DOTr), through the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), has given all bus and terminal operators a 60-day deadline to improve their land transportation terminals, citing passenger safety and convenience as top priorities.

Under Board Resolution No. 101, Series of 2025, operators are mandated to upgrade facilities or risk facing sanctions.

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista emphasized that the directive is in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call to ensure safe and comfortable public transportation. He warned that firms that fail to comply within the 60-day period may face suspension—or even closure of their terminals.

“If bus companies do not comply within 60 days, their operations may be suspended. Continued non-compliance could lead to terminal closures,” he said during a dialogue with industry representatives.
