The Department of Transportation (DOTr) reaffirmed its commitment to the timely completion of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) and the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP), both major infrastructure projects aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving public transport.
DOTr Assistant Secretary for Right of Way and Site Acquisition IC Calaguas made the assurance during the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Kiwanis Club of Angeles City held at Royce Hotel.

Calaguas said the DOTr, led by Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez, continues to work tirelessly to deliver an efficient mass transport system for the Filipino people, following the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to fast-track the completion of major railway projects.
“These projects will not only provide comfort and convenience to the commuting public but also give them more time with their families,” Calaguas said, adding that the NSCR and MMSP are vital in promoting economic growth.
The NSCR North segment is expected to be operational by early 2028, while the South segment from Solis to Calamba and the MMSP are both targeted for completion by 2032.
Calaguas also expressed gratitude to the Kiwanis Club of Angeles City for its continued service to the community, commending the organization for five decades of humanitarian commitment. She was welcomed by past president Roldan De Leon, incoming president Regina De Leon, and Kiwanis Trustee and Barangay Captain Toto Gonzales of Sta. Cruz, Magalang.
