The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the construction of a daycare center building which offers a safe and conducive learning environment for children in Barangay Buenavista, Tarlac City.
The 80.56-square meter infrastructure is in line with the agency’s thrust to support education by prioritizing the development and construction of classrooms and school buildings at the community level.
DPWH Tarlac 1st District Engineer Neil Farala stressed the impact of the project in elevating the children’s holistic development and the quality of early childhood education in Barangay Buenavista.
“The learning facility reflects our commitment to improve the quality of life for Tarlac City residents, especially children,” Farala said.
He added that the daycare center is well-lit with adequate ventilation.
Daycare worker Tita Macalino looked back on the struggles they faced in the old daycare center, and shared her excitement about the newly-completed infrastructure.
“Unlike before, our room was small. Now, we have a very spacious classroom that can accommodate more pupils. This will encourage more children to go to school,” Macalino explained.
About P4.78 million was allocated for the project under the Basic Infrastructure Program in the 2023 national budget. (PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
