DSWD, Aurora school team up for livelihood training

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has signed a partnership agreement with Lyceum of the East-Aurora to enhance its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) through comprehensive skills training.

The collaboration aims to equip SLP beneficiaries with practical skills and knowledge that will enable them to build and maintain sustainable sources of income.

DSWD Regional Director Venus Rebuldela emphasized the importance of the partnership in empowering communities. “This initiative will help our beneficiaries gain the expertise they need to create and sustain their livelihoods,” she said.

Under the agreement, Lyceum of the East-Aurora will offer technical assistance, training facilities, and subject matter experts across various fields relevant to the program. The school will also mobilize its faculty, students, and institutional resources to support the SLP’s implementation.

Launched in 2011, the SLP has supported thousands of Filipinos by delivering skills training and livelihood assistance to marginalized sectors, contributing to poverty reduction and economic resilience.
