The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Tarlac in cooperation with the Tarlac State University held an Entrepreneurial Mind-setting Seminar for the Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) on April 14, 2023.
DTI-Tarlac Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) aims to boost the entrepreneurial strategies of ARBOs with existing businesses and prep up those who are planning to venture into business.
“This kind of seminar is very important among our ARBOs so that aside from farming, they would have an idea about doing business and leveling up their produce,” Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist Divine Ramos said.
The resource speaker from TSU, Mr. Fabian Seguira, discussed the legalities of business – from business registration to the mandatory benefits of employees, and background on taxation.
Mr. Jose Geaga on the other hand, gave the participants a view of the business world’s entirety. He discussed the importance of product quality, current trends, innovation, maintaining good connections with suppliers and buyers, and how to achieve longevity of the business.
25 members of various ARBOs from La Paz, Camiling, Santa Ignacia, and Paniqui, Tarlac joined the learning event.
Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries are farmers who were granted land under Presidential Decree No. 27, the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law and Republic Act No. 9700 or the “Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Extension with Reforms” as well as regular farm workers who benefited from the redistribution of lands.
