DTI Tarlac trains La Paz High School faculty members

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac held a series of training sessions for about 76 faculty members of La Paz High School. These include two sessions of Entrepreneurial Mind Setting, skills training on bread and pastry making, and skills training on onion processing.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said this is a way to encourage entrepreneurship not only with the faculty members but also to their learners.

“The activity aims to impart knowledge on entrepreneurship among the participants, develop skills and new livelihood projects that they could share with their students, and motivate them to become entrepreneurs,” Balilo furthered.

Negosyo Center La Paz Business Counselor Jesalyn Dueñas discussed the basics of entrepreneurship, its rewards and risks, and how to start a business.

Meanwhile, Resource Speaker Arceli Oriondo led the skills training on bread and pastry making, where she taught the attendees how to make cheese bread, ensaymada, doughnuts, muffins, breakfast rolls, pandesal, and hopia.

Moreover, she demonstrated how to make jam, pickles, hopia, empanada, and chips using onion as the main ingredient.

DTI, through the Negosyo Centers located in every municipality and city in the province, provides free seminars and skills training for groups who are interested in engaging in business. (PIA 3)
