The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac, through the Negosyo Center San Manuel, introduced senior high school learners to artificial intelligence (AI) through the Google AI Essentials course at San Felipe High School.
A total of 31 students joined the training, which aims to enhance AI literacy, promote responsible use, and show practical applications that can boost productivity.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said the program helps students understand AI concepts, create effective prompts, and keep pace with digitalization. Business Counselor Anthony Novenario guided participants on navigating the self-paced online course.
Student Aikee Ladera shared that the course helped him appreciate AI as a tool meant to assist, not replace, humans.
“Malaking tulong ito sa amin bilang kabataan dahil mas naging bukas yung isipan namin sa tamang paggamit ng AI at kung paano ito makakatulong sa aming pag-aaral,” he said.
School Principal Baby Zenny Tabag thanked DTI for the collaboration, calling it an opportunity that equips students with valuable skills for the digital age.
“In this digital era, knowledge of artificial intelligence is not just a skill but a valuable tool for their future,” she noted.
Through initiatives like this, DTI Tarlac reinforces its commitment to preparing the youth with digital skills vital for innovation and future opportunitie
