DTI launches ₱2-billion negosyo fund for OFWs

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has allocated ₱2 billion from the DTI Small Business Corporation (DTI-SBCorp) for the newly established OFW Negosyo Fund aimed at helping overseas Filipino workers start businesses and reintegrate into the local economy.

The program, which will open to applicants on March 12, 2026, provides expanded financial assistance to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), particularly those who may suddenly return home due to global crises such as the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

DTI said the initiative is designed to help OFWs transition back into the country by supporting the creation of sustainable businesses that can generate jobs and stimulate local economic growth.

DTI Secretary Cristina Roque said the program seeks to address the challenges OFWs face when returning home and planning new livelihoods.

“We are committed to opening doors for OFWs ready to come home and invest in their own country, especially when external crises force their hand,” Roque said.

Under the OFW Negosyo Fund, borrowers may avail of the following financing terms:

  • Loan amount: ₱30,000 to ₱20 million
  • Grace period: No payment of capital and interest for the first year on eligible products
  • Repayment terms: Up to five years with flexible options
  • Collateral: Waived for loans up to ₱5 million

In line with the government’s digitalization push, OFWs may apply through the DTI-SBCorp Money App or through the online portal of DTI-SBCorp.

Applicants may also visit any of the 1,431 Negosyo Centers nationwide for assistance in business planning and navigating DTI programs. Interested applicants may call the hotline 1-384 for more information.
