The Eco Protect Management Corporation (EPMC), led by President and CEO Alainne Tan, has introduced a new character aimed at encouraging proper waste segregation among young students. The character, named EKO, stands for Ehemplo ng Kalinisan sa bawat Oras.
EKO made her debut in Angeles City on Tuesday, March 4, during the launch of the “Lunes Malinis” or MaLu project, which was held in three public schools. The event saw EKO joined by MaLu, the official mascot of the eco-friendly initiative, in engaging and educating students on waste management.
The newest partner schools in EPMC’s campaign to upcycle single-use plastic sachets include Anunas Elementary School, Pampanga Elementary School, and Lourdes Northwest Elementary School.

As part of the Lunes Malinis initiative, plastic waste collected from these schools will be transformed into useful items like armchairs and trash bins. This effort not only gives discarded materials a new life but also helps raise environmental awareness among the students. (Contributed Photos)
