EVO CITY Front Act Run draws over 1,500 participants ahead of Rock ‘n’ Roll Manila

More than 1,750 runners, both new and seasoned, laced up for the first-ever EVO CITY Front Act Run on October 20, 2024, offering a vibrant preview of the upcoming 2024 ASICS Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Manila presented by AIA. Held in the progressive Evo City estate by Ayala Land, the event celebrated health, music, and community in a lively, music-filled atmosphere.

Participants in the fun run took on one of three distances—21km, 10km, or 5km—with each runner receiving an event shirt, medal, and various freebies from sponsors. Staying true to the musical theme of the Rock ‘n’ Roll series, the course featured upbeat tunes to energize runners, with DJ Marc Marasigan headlining the event. Triathlete Nikko Huelgas led the pack at the starting line, adding excitement to the experience.

The EVO CITY Front Act Run wasn’t just about the race—it provided long-distance runners an opportunity to assess their training progress ahead of the November event. The pre-run also embraced inclusivity, welcoming families, beginners, and casual runners to join the fun without the pressure of a full marathon.

“The passion and dedication of this community have inspired us to create a new event that highlights the essence of running, music, and togetherness—core pillars of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series,” said Princess Galura, General Manager of The IRONMAN Group Philippines. “We aimed to make the musical fun run experience accessible to new runners and families wanting to introduce an active lifestyle to their kids.”

Evo City served as the title sponsor, alongside key partners such as 2Go, Ion Advance Electrolyte Drink, Lightwater, and Sante. Marketing partners Century Tuna and Gardenia, and media partners Manila Bulletin, Tempo, One Sports+, and Cignal also supported the event.
