Dialysis patients in Bulacan can now avail of free treatment at the newly inaugurated Malolos City Hemodialysis Center, the first dialysis facility in the city established through a public-private partnership (PPP).
PhilHealth Regional Office III-Branch B Acting Manager Arlan Granali assured that patients may claim up to ₱6,350 per session, under the expanded coverage of Republic Act 11223 or the Universal Health Care Act of 2019. Through PhilHealth Circular 2024-0023, financial support for chronic kidney disease Stage 5 patients now reaches nearly ₱1 million.
The center, built in partnership between the City Government of Malolos and private concessionaire Premier 101, is now the largest dialysis facility in Bulacan with 40 machines, accommodating up to 100 patients daily or 600 weekly.
Mayor Christian Natividad said this marks the city’s second PPP venture, following the Malolos Terminal Hub with Xentro Mall in 2015. Aside from free dialysis sessions, Premier 101 will also provide each patient with a sack of rice after every treatment.
The two-story facility, located beside the Cathedral-Basilica Minore in downtown Malolos, is expected to significantly ease the burden of kidney patients across the province.
