On April 3, 2025, former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. paid a courtesy visit to the Angeles City Hall, where he was warmly welcomed by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. and the 33 barangay captains of the city, led by ABC President Danilo Nacu.
During his visit, Abalos discussed his advocacy for the removal of the value-added tax (VAT) on electricity, a move he believes will ease the burden on Filipino families. He also pledged to introduce a comprehensive support program for farmers, which would include easier access to loans, reduced land taxes, expanded crop insurance, and education assistance for farmers’ children.

Mayor Lazatin presented Abalos with a One Town, One Product (OTOP) souvenir, which Abalos expressed admiration for during the exchange.
Also present at the meeting to welcome Abalos were Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin, City Administrator Atty. Willie Rivera, and ACEDIPO Head Irish Bonus-Llego.
