Freeport Area of Bataan welcomes 30 0 international athletes for the 2025 5150 FAB Triathlon

The Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) is set to host more than 300 athletes from 15 countries for the 2025 5150 FAB Triathlon, solidifying its place as one of the Philippines’ premier Olympic-distance race destinations.

Participants from Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands, the Philippines, Singapore, the United States, and the United Kingdom will compete this weekend—reflecting the event’s growing global appeal and stunning race setting.

The 5150 course begins with a 1.5 km swim at Camaya Coast, continues with a 40 km single-loop bike route climbing through the Bagac–Mariveles Road toward the Roman Superhighway, and concludes with a 10 km double-loop run finishing at the FAB Gym.

With its two-transition setup, athletes will check in bikes at Transition 1 (Camaya Coast) and run gear at Transition 2 (Visayas Avenue, FAB). A dedicated shuttle service will transport participants between T1 and T2 on race day, November 16.

Also happening on the same day is the Sunrise Sprint (S2), featuring a 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run—ideal for first-time triathletes or those seeking a fast, fun season-ender.

Festivities begin Saturday with the FABulous Run at 5 PM, covering a counter-clockwise loop around Luzon Avenue within the Freeport. Athlete Check-in, Kit Claim, and the Expo will be at the AFAB Administration Building, while the Official Race Briefing is scheduled for 2 PM at the FAB Auditorium.

“This event reflects our shared vision of promoting Bataan as both an economic and sports tourism hub,” said AFAB Administrator Hussein Pangandaman. “The 5150 FAB Triathlon brings the world’s athletes to our shores and showcases our commitment to wellness, tourism, and community pride.”

Sunrise Events, Inc. President and General Manager Princess Galura added:
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with AFAB. The course is challenging but rewarding, with scenic routes, open roads, and strong community support—a fitting finale to the 2025 triathlon season.”

Among the notable participants are IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship finishers Mervin Santiago, Paolo Sauler, Reujen Lista, and Vanessa Agdon; podium athletes James Van Ramoga, Kim Mangrobang, Gene Heart Quiambao, Erika Burgos, and Bea Marie Quiambao; and local representatives Cha Cruz of AFAB Port Operations and King Ivan Reyes of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
