Scottish actor Iain Glen, best known for his role as Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones, has officially joined the cast of TBA Studios’ upcoming historical biopic Quezon, the studio announced on March 17, 2025.
Glen will portray Leonard Wood, the United States Army major who later became Governor-General of the Philippines. Wood played a crucial role in President Manuel L. Quezon’s fight for Philippine independence from the United States.
Earlier this year, Glen attended the film’s script reading with the cast and crew at The Manila Hotel. Director and co-writer Jerrold Tarog expressed his enthusiasm for the casting choice, saying Glen’s presence brings the film to life. “He has gravitas, but at the same time, he can let loose, which is important for the role of Leonard Wood,” Tarog said.
Glen joins Jericho Rosales, who will portray President Quezon in the film. Beyond Game of Thrones, Glen is known for his performances as Dr. Alexander Isaacs in Resident Evil, Sir Richard Carlisle in Downton Abbey, and more recently, Dr. Pete Nichols in Apple TV+’s Silo and Magnus MacMillan in Prime Video’s The Rig. He also voices Juste Belmont in Netflix’s Castlevania: Nocturne.
Quezon is set to begin production this March and will chronicle the life of Manuel L. Quezon, the lawyer and soldier who served as President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944.
