Globe clinches ASEAN Energy Award for Green Tech, Net Zero push

Globe Telecom has won at the 2025 ASEAN Energy Awards, earning recognition for its decarbonization and energy efficiency initiatives.

The award was presented in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where Globe was named winner in the Energy Efficient Building – Special Submissions (Cutting-Edge Technology) category. The company was also the only Filipino firm to secure a win under the ASEAN Best Practices for Energy Efficient Buildings entries.

The recognition highlighted Globe’s Chiller Optimization project at its Valero Telepark facility, which uses External Digital Demand-Response Technology to optimize cooling systems and significantly reduce energy consumption while maintaining operational requirements.

Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer Yoly Crisanto said the recognition affirms the company’s strategy of integrating sustainability into operations, combining energy-saving innovations with large-scale renewable energy adoption as part of its Net Zero roadmap.

As of November 2025, Globe powers 37 major facilities, including data centers and offices, using renewable energy through government-backed programs such as the Retail Competition and Open Access and the Green Energy Option Program. The company is also utilizing the Retail Aggregation Program to transition more than 3,000 cell sites to renewable energy by 2028.

These efforts support Globe’s target of reducing emissions by 42 percent by 2030 and achieving Net Zero emissions in the long term.
