Globe has achieved more than ₱125 million in energy savings this year by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies into its network and facility operations, boosting efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
Joel Agustin, Senior Vice President and Head of Service Planning and Engineering, said innovation continues to drive Globe’s sustainability efforts. “These AI-driven solutions show that resource efficiency and sustainability go hand in hand,” he noted.
Through AI-enabled systems, Globe now adjusts power consumption in real time across thousands of cell sites and buildings based on network demand—lowering electricity use without affecting service quality. The company reported saving over 11.3 million kilowatt hours (kWh) in 2024 alone through energy management initiatives and the deployment of two AI solutions to nearly 20,000 network elements nationwide.
AI is also being used to improve efficiency in Globe’s building cooling systems. The External Digital Demand Response Technology (EDD-RT), a smart device that regulates cooling and minimizes electricity consumption, has delivered 20–30% annual energy savings.
Globe said its long-term goal is to build a more efficient and environmentally responsible network—one that performs better, costs less, and supports a greener future.
