Globe earns GSMA Certification for Number Verification API, boosting security in Digital Transactions

Globe has secured the GSMA Open Gateway Certification for its upcoming Number Verification API, marking a significant step in strengthening security for digital financial transactions in the Philippines.

The certification, awarded after Globe met the full technical specifications for Number Verification API Version 1.0, confirms the service’s compliance with rigorous global standards for security, interoperability, and developer experience.

Designed to protect against threats such as fraudulent account creation and account takeovers, the API will enable financial institutions and enterprises to securely verify mobile numbers in real time. It will also simplify integration, making adoption easier for banks and other organizations.

“This is a testament to Globe’s dedication to building safer digital ecosystems,” said KD Dizon, Head of Globe Business. “We are laying the groundwork for secure, standards-based tools that will empower our partners and strengthen public trust in digital financial services.”

Henry Calvert, Head of Networks at GSMA, commended Globe for its achievement. “Certification of CAMARA APIs plays a critical role in giving enterprises—both local and global—the confidence that their services are built on standardized, interoperable foundations. This ensures easier integration, stronger security, and a consistent developer experience aligned with global specifications,” he said.

The milestone aligns with Globe’s strategy to expand its enterprise offerings with advanced API solutions for fraud prevention, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and evolving security needs in the digital age.
