Globe has mobilized emergency measures in response to the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck near Bogo City, Northern Cebu, on September 30, triggering a tsunami alert and a series of aftershocks across the Visayas.
In partnership with the Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AFI), Globe has delivered aid to 3,165 affected families — including 1,805 in Bogo and 1,360 in San Remigio. The company is also working with local authorities and partners to extend both relief assistance and connectivity support to impacted communities.
Network restoration efforts are ongoing after Globe services were disrupted in 15 provinces. As of October 1, full service has been restored in Aklan, Antique, Biliran, Bohol, Capiz, and Iloilo, while Cebu remains the most affected. Technical teams continue to conduct inspections and coordinate with power providers to fast-track recovery.
To aid residents, Globe has set up ‘Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, and Libreng Wi-Fi’ (LTLCLW) stations in high-impact areas, open from October 1 to 3, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:
- Don Celestino Martinez Sr. Sports Complex, Bogo City
- Dr. Jose Rizal Park, Bogo City
- San Remigio Public Market, San Remigio
Globe reminded the public to remain alert for aftershocks and to follow advisories from PHIVOLCS and local authorities. The company pledged to continue monitoring developments and provide timely updates through its official channels.
