In a move to promote digital inclusion and support grassroots governance, Globe has donated 10 refurbished laptops to barangays across Bohol to aid in their transition to digital systems and eGovernance.
The laptops will be used by the Lupon Tagapamayapa, a community-based body that mediates local disputes. By shifting from typewriters to digital tools, the Lupon can now manage cases more efficiently—minimizing errors, digitizing records, sending documents online, and safely storing important files.
The ceremonial turnover was held at the Bohol Provincial Capitol in Tagbilaran City and attended by Board Member Benjie Arcamo (on behalf of Vice Governor Tita Baja), 1st District Board Member Aldner Damalerio, Liga ng mga Barangay President Romulo Cepedoza, and Globe Vice President for External Affairs Patrick Gloria.
“This initiative is part of Globe’s mission to build a #GlobeOfGood,” said Gloria. “By empowering barangay peace councils with digital tools, we improve community access, efficiency, and resilience.”
Recipient barangays include San Isidro (Tagbilaran City), Sto. Rosario (Antequera), Guiwanon (Tubigon), Canapnapan (Corella), Dangay (Albur), Sta. Cruz (Calape), Cogon Norte (Loon), Magsija (Balilihan), Triple Union (Catigbian), and the Municipality of Cortes.
The effort is aligned with Globe’s sustainability advocacy—extending the life of devices to reduce e-waste—while also supporting Bohol’s Strategic Change Agenda under Governor Aris Aumentado, which promotes digital empowerment and resilience within the UNESCO-recognized Bohol Island Geopark.
