Globe Telecom has activated preparations in anticipation of Tropical Storm Marce, which entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday and is expected to make landfall in Northern Luzon.
Following the significant impacts of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and Typhoon Leon, Globe is closely monitoring Marce’s path, with forecasts indicating the storm may intensify into a typhoon in the next two days. Globe has deployed generator sets, batteries, and emergency power supplies at key network facilities along Marce’s projected path to address potential power outages. Additionally, technical teams, support crews, and necessary emergency equipment have been positioned in vulnerable areas to ensure swift response if required.
To support communities potentially affected by Marce, Globe is prepared to set up Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, and Libreng WiFi stations.
“Our country has faced back-to-back storms, and many communities are still recovering. We want to reassure our customers that we are making all necessary preparations in our network facilities as we anticipate the effects of yet another storm,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.
Globe urges residents in Marce’s projected path to secure essential supplies, including food, water, medicine, emergency lighting, and fully charged mobile devices. The company also encourages the public to rely on verified weather sources for updates and heed warnings received via SMS. Globe provides free data access to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) website for real-time information.
