Hanabishi strengthens Livelihood Support through Project Karinderya Partnership

Strengthening its commitment to Filipino families, Hanabishi Appliances continues to expand its ‘Kapartner sa Kabuhayan’ advocacy by once again partnering with K-COOP to support Project Karinderya beneficiaries in the last quarter of 2025.

The initiative aims to promote sustainable livelihood while helping address food security in communities by supporting small, community-based eateries, particularly those operated by “nanaypreneurs.”

“More than an appliance brand, Hanabishi is a trusted partner of Filipino families. We are one with organizations like K-COOP in finding ways to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities, especially for nanaypreneurs who need support in growing their karinderya business,” said Cherish Ong-Chua, Vice President for Finance and Marketing of Hanabishi Appliances.

Hanabishi initially partnered with K-COOP earlier in 2025, providing Karinderya Starter Kits to beneficiaries in August. The partnership expanded in the last quarter of the year, reaching more communities by distributing starter kits to 30 karinderya owners and helping provide meals to 600 individuals across Rizal and Bulacan for 30 days.

Each Karinderya Starter Kit included essential appliances to help small food businesses operate efficiently. These include an electric fan, gas stove or oven toaster, rice cooker or pressure cooker, water dispenser or hand mixer/blender, and either a coffee maker or airpot.

Project Karinderya helps ensure stable income for participating karinderya owners through a one-month income support program. At the same time, it provides meal subsidies worth ₱60 per day for 30 days to community beneficiaries, which can be redeemed at participating karinderyas. Beneficiaries include vulnerable groups such as senior citizens, persons with disabilities, pregnant and lactating mothers, and low-income families.

Beyond financial assistance, the program also provides training and capability-building sessions focused on food safety, nutrition, and customer service. Health cadets and monitoring teams are deployed to help ensure food quality, safety standards, and program compliance.

Ong-Chua emphasized that the initiative reflects Hanabishi’s long-term vision of empowering communities through sustainable livelihood programs.

“At Hanabishi, we believe that sustainable progress is rooted in dignity. Through our Kapartner sa Kabuhayan advocacy, we remain committed to supporting livelihood programs that help people build resilience and shape their future with pride,” she said.

Through partnerships like Project Karinderya, Hanabishi continues to strengthen its role not only as a household appliance brand but also as a partner in community development and economic empowerment.
