Holy Angel University, the largest Catholic university in Central Luzon, launches 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐚, the biggest student-based award-giving body in the country, celebrating its tenth year of honoring the service and dedication of media personalities and entities in the country.  

Organized by the Communicators’ League, the university’s official BA Communication program student organization, it aims to recognize the best media personalities, shows and television stations for their excellence in the field of journalism, broadcasting, and entertainment as its name suggests, which is a Kapampangan word, “Paragala” means “a token given for a service rendered.”

As Paragala’s first decade is approaching, its valuable commitment in uplifting and honoring the media industry is being expanded to celebrate all media practitioners belonging to different industries who are also relentless in safeguarding the truth.

For its tenth year, its theme centers on “SILAK”, a term that is associated with radiance, lustrous and iridescence, dawning a new voyage of exploring the unknown sea of talents and craftsmanship of media personalities and entities that are yet to be discovered.

“For Paragala’s first decade, we want to diversify our categories and recognize talents beyond the scope of National TV but also recognizing the new media; and we want to find those that sparks hope and inspiration in fighting for the truth and our Filipino values, especially in this age of disinformation,” said Ernest Yap, President of the Communicators’ League 

The schools, colleges, and universities around Central Luzon will cast their votes to identify their choice of the most excellent and influential media personalities, shows, and television stations.

The following schools will participate in the selection of the winners: Bataan Peninsula State University, Meycauayan College, College of Immaculate Concepcion, Tarlac Agricultural University, Tarlac State University, Gordon College, University of the Assumption, Mabalacat City College, City College of Angeles, Systems Plus College Foundation, and Holy angel University 

The award-giving body will give recognitions like Best Crisis Coverage Award, Best Content Creator, Best Podcast, Paragala Pang-Linkod Bayan and Best Music/Theatre Play.

SILAK — The 10th Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards will happen on June 9, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. at the HAU University Theatre, the event will also be Livestreamed via Paragala official Facebook Page.
