Gamat Kapampangan Art Group opened today, September 12, KAPANATAGAN, at Clark Museum. The art exhibit celebrates a visual art exhibit which celebrates Harmonious Artistic Diversity, Peace, and Unity.

This art exhibition features a diverse range of artworks representing harmony, unity, and reconciliation. The inspiration for these works stems from the diverse yet harmonious cultural heritage of the Kapampangan people.

The artworks, created using various mediums, engage in a harmonious dialogue and evoke a sense of shared humanity, mirroring the Kapampangan values of bayanihan (communal unity) and pamagsarili (self-reliance).

Gamat Kapampangan Artist Consumers Cooperative President Jojo La Madrid, who officially welcomed all attendees to the exhibit, expressed great pride in opening Kapanatagan, which he described as a “visual art exhibit which features a diverse range of artworks representing harmony, unity, and reconciliation.”

La Madrid also hopes that through Kapanatagan, the attendees may be inspired by the Kapampangan characteristics of pamisanmetung (unity) and pamikasundu (reconciliation). “May our love for the arts continue to unite us by creating paths to reconciliation when needed.”

Meanwhile, Department of Tourism – 3 Regional Director Richard Daenos stated that “Art can inspire conversations and hope where it is needed, and it is a source of strength and pathway to peace.”
