Livelihood Program for Sitio Haduan Indigenous Women Farmers

Some Php165, 000 worth of startup capital for crop production livelihood was awarded to the eleven (11) indigenous women farmers from Sitio Haduan, Marcos Village. The awarding is part of the long-term goal of Mabalacat City Government to enhance the  capabilities of indigenous people of Mabalacat City.

This program is a joint initiative of the Mabalacat City LGU through City Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) which with the documentation and legal process; the City Agriculture Office, which provided crop supplies; the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region III for funding the program and for the monthly monitoring; and SM City Clark, which offersoffers crop production training for the beneficiaries under the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan: Urban Gardening Project. 

SM City Clark also provided the land for the farmers’ training and guaranteed the merchandising of the crops in the mall during the harvest season.

Present during the awarding were Mabalacat City Administrator Franco Alejo Madlangbayan, CSWDO Josephine Tanglao, and DSWD Region III Staff.
