In the true spirit of Christmas, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. dedicated December 16, 2024, to giving back to his community through a series of initiatives, cash incentives, and special awards that celebrate the achievements and contributions of Angeleños.

“This season, and always, our goal is to uplift and support our community,” said Mayor Lazatin. “Whether it’s through sports, education, or personal achievements, we want every Angeleño to feel the love and care they deserve.”

Among his many initiatives, Mayor Lazatin distributed basketball boards and shot clocks to 18 barangays, underscoring his commitment to sports development and fostering community engagement.

Financial assistance was extended to individuals pursuing excellence on national and international stages. Stephanie Jane Lusung received ₱10,000, Princess Sabrina Taño was awarded ₱5,000, and Chaz Feliciano received ₱10,000 to represent the Philippines at the 28th Annual World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA).

Support for the arts was also evident, with ₱15,000 granted to Armilda Manuela Suarez for their exhibit, Atelier by Mancio Suarez.

Mayor Lazatin recognized academic excellence by awarding ₱10,000 to Adrian Sampang, one of the “Huwarang Mag-aaral ng Gitnang Luzon 2024.” Additionally, Barangay Pulung Cacutud resident Jan Jorvy Mhil Tayag received ₱3,000 for placing in the Top 3 of the October 2024 Veterinarians Licensure Examination, while JO1 Camille Ann Romero was awarded ₱3,000 for her vigilance in uncovering illegal substances during a routine inspection.

Local schools were also celebrated for their outstanding performances at the Sinukwan Festival. Cutud Elementary School received ₱40,000 for their first-place win in the Street Dance Competition, while Gueco Balibago Elementary School was awarded ₱20,000 for securing third place.

Through these initiatives, Mayor Lazatin reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to uplifting the community, fostering excellence, and sharing the joy of the holiday season with every Angeleño.
