MCG files CoC for third term, with daughter Winwin Garbo as running mate

Incumbent Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has officially filed his Certificate of Candidacy for a third term as mayor. His running mate is the incumbent board member and former three-term councilor, Winwin Garbo.

The filing ceremony drew a massive crowd of approximately 10,000 supporters according to CDRRMO, showcasing the strong backing for Garbo and his team. Joining them are incumbent councilors Timothy Dee, Doc Cocoy Tiglao, Noel Castro, Rox Peña, Carlo Dizon, Jerry Magsino, along with incumbent punong barangays Elmer Mendiola and Elmer Calaguas, and former MCTEG head Ralph Lauren David.

Among the notable supporters were Ricarla Juniella Reyes, Sophia Razon, and Jenica Ann Tubat—three cancer patients who benefited from the healthcare initiatives implemented under the Garbo administration. Their testimonials highlighted the positive impact of the mayor’s programs, further galvanizing support for his candidacy.
Aspiring councilor Ralph ‘Basti’ David expressed fulfillment in the turnout, emphasizing, “Ito ang tunay na pagpapakita ng suporta na nanggaling mula sa tunay na mga Mabalaqueños. Lahat ng narito, organic supporters. Walang hakot, walang dayo, walang bayad. Nagpapasalamat kami sa Diyos at binigyan kami ng magandang panahon upang makibahagi ang taong-bayan.”

MCG and BM Win got emotionally overwhelmed by the outpouring support of the people. In his remarks, Mayor Cris Garbo conveyed his gratitude to the attendees, stating, “I was not expecting this crowd. I did not even announce my filing nor called for media to cover. I am overwhelmed by your love and support, and your gesture inspires me more to serve the people of Mabalacat City.”

Today is the last day for filing of COCs in the Comelec.
