Mayor Crisostomo Garbo plans to establish a facility that will promote mental health in Mabalacat City.
This comes at the heels of Mental Awareness Month, which aims to raise consciousness on mental health issues, reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and promote emotional well-being.
As the focal person for health in the League of Cities of the Philippines, Mayor Garbo believes that the establishment of a mental health facility in Mabalacat City will help address the growing need for accessible mental health services.
“I want to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals who may be struggling with mental health issues. It will offer a range of services, including counseling, therapy, and psychiatric treatment, to help individuals manage their mental health and improve their quality of life,” Garbo said.
Mayor Garbo emphasizes the need for a holistic approach to mental health and encourages the community to prioritize their mental well-being. He believes that by promoting mental health, the city can build a healthier and more resilient community.
Upon Mayor Garbo’s instruction, the City Health Office is currently exploring possible locations and funding sources for the mental health facility. Mayor Garbo aims to make mental health services more accessible to the people of Mabalacat City and hopes that this initiative will inspire other cities to prioritize mental health as well.
This move by Mayor Garbo and the City Health Office is a significant step towards promoting mental health in the province. With the establishment of a mental health facility, the city can look forward to a brighter, healthier, and more supportive future.
