𝐌𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒

Out of over 600 entries this year, Mabalacat City College (MCC) has been shortlisted for the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2024.

THE Awards Asia is a celebration of the outstanding achievements of universities and colleges. It focuses on a range of categories that demonstrate the institutions’ commitment to teaching excellence, research innovation, and positive societal impact.

The shortlisting of MCC is a testament to the college’s relentless pursuit of academic distinction and its significant contributions to the higher education landscape.

Mayor Crisostomo Garbo expressed his heartfelt congratulations to MCC and its president, Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, on this remarkable feat. In his message, Mayor Garbo stated:

“On behalf of the city and the Mabalaqueños, I extend our warmest congratulations to Mabalacat City College and President Mich Ong for being shortlisted in the THE Awards Asia 2024. This is not only a proud moment for the college but also for our entire city. MCC’s commitment to fostering an environment of excellence and innovation is truly inspiring, and this recognition is richly deserved.”

The Sangguniang Panlungsod’s committee chairperson for Education, Councilor Noel Castro, also extended his felicitations: “MCC’s inclusion in the 2024 shortlist is an honor that serves as an inspiration for other institutions in the region. It reflects the college’s dedication to creating a culture of excellence that resonates with the dynamic and diverse educational landscape of Asia.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Ong said that, “As the spotlight shines on the stories of success and innovation across the continent, MCC stands out as an example of how higher education can drive positive change and development. The college’s faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to take pride in this significant achievement and to continue pursuing their passion for making a difference through education.”

The entire MCC community eagerly anticipates the final results of the THE Awards Asia 2024 and remains hopeful for continued success as they uphold their mission of educational leadership and service.
