The Mabalacat City Government has continues anti-rabies vaccination drive to ensure the health and safety of the city’s animal companions.
On May 15, 2024, the City Veterinary Office headed by Dr. Abel Canlas organized a vaccination drive at Macapagal Village, where 103 pet owners brought a total of 174 dogs and 32 cats to receive the essential anti-rabies shots. The event saw a high turnout and enthusiastic participation from the barangay.
The following day, the vaccination campaign moved to Barangay Lakandula, where an even larger number of pet owners took part. A total of 264 pet owners brought 372 dogs and 168 cats to receive the vaccinations.
Mayor Cris Garbo expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and thanked the pet owners for their proactive approach to safeguarding their pets against rabies. He emphasized the importance of responsible pet ownership and the role of vaccination in preventing the spread of diseases among animals and humans.
