The Mabalacat City Fire Department has lined up a series of activities in connection with Fire Prevention Month, with the theme โSa Pag-Iwas Sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa!โ
Kick-off happens on Tuesday, March 5, with the parade of Mabalacat City fire trucks, fire brigades and fire volunteers with long-time fire brigade organizer and volunteer Councilor Timothy Dee leading the launch.
Mabalacat City Fire Marshal Fire Senior Inspector (FNISP) Joshua Ayson said, โThe celebrations in Mabalacat City are very significant. They are more than the usual activities. And they are made more remarkable with the support of both the private sector and the government, especially local officials.โ
On March 11, fire extinguishers and other gifts will be distributed at Bahay Pagasa orphanage and other public schools
On March 12, young children may join an art contest, which is intended to create fire awareness in various schools.
On March 15, in the Fire Olympics, six barangays will battle it out in hose laying, hose rolling and bucket brigades.
On March 22, a tree planting activity, staged in partnership with the City Agriculture Office, will be held at an aeta settlement in Sitio Calapi, Barangay Calumpang. About 100 seedlings of various species will be planted.

At the thick of preparations for Fire Prevention Month, the Mabalacat City Fire Station promptly responded to two incidents that saved at least 15 lives and multi million peso worth of houses and personal properties. These occurred at Portobello Subdivision in Barangay Duquit on January 29, 2024 and in the wee hours of the morning on February 19, 2024 at Barangay Bical. No one was reported injured in these two incidents

City Fire Marshal FSINSP Ayson assumed the post only last January 29. At 29, he is one of the youngest City Fire Marshals in the Philippines. He is a Kapampangan and hails from Capas, Tarlac.

A member of PNPA Maragtas Class of 2018, Ayson he ranked Top 6 in the Officers Advance Course.
In 208, he was assigned as aide-de-camp of then Fire Chief Director Leonard Banago. His idealism earned him several key positions in BFP Regional Office III prior to his appointment as fire marshal of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga in 2021, then Bacolor, Pampanga from 2021-2023.
With his 5-year experience coupled by values, knowledge and skills, Ayson was entrusted to lead the fire department of one of the most progressive cities in Central Luzon.
“I take great pleasure and honor to serve as the fire marshal of Mabalacat. My goal is to create a safer environment for everyone by implementing proactive fire safety measures and fostering a culture of preparedness. Together, we can make a significant difference in protecting lives and property,” Ayson said.
