The Mabalacat City government, led by Mayor Geld Aquino, and the National Housing Authority (NHA) held a meeting to address concerns affecting informal settler families (ISFs) in the city, including support for the LGU’s housing programs.
During the meeting, officials discussed the situation of ISFs currently residing near Mabalacat National High School. The area is being considered for the construction of additional school facilities, which would affect families living on the site.

City officials emphasized that while improving educational infrastructure remains a priority, the welfare and rights of affected families will also be protected.
The city also shared its goal of pursuing a humane and fair solution through continued coordination with the NHA for technical assistance, proper relocation, and access to housing programs.
Both parties agreed to maintain open coordination to ensure that development projects will include adequate housing and social protection for informal settler families.
Present during the meeting were City Engineer Rodrigo De Leon, CPDC Rosanno S. Paquia, Paolo Miguel De Leon, Engr. Elvis Mikael De Leon, and NHA OIC District Manager Ma. Fatima Dela Cruz.
