Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to local farmers as he met with Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and coffee growers from Sapangbato during his visit to the City Agriculture Office.
Lazatin, joined by Councilor Ron Pineda and City Agriculture Officer Rea Dizon, also turned over a shallow tube well to the Barangay Sapalibutad Farmers Association under the Corn and Cassava Banner Program.

During the visit, the City Agriculture Office facilitated the registration of IP and coffee farmers under the Organic Agriculture Registry Systems through the CARISUCOS Angeles City Farmers Association. The initiative aims to formalize organic farming practices, strengthen traceability, and open fairer market opportunities.
Mayor Lazatin also inspected ongoing agricultural projects, including the plant nursery, black soldier fly production, greenhouse, hydroponics, and the goat multiplier program.
In line with the Highly-Urbanized City Agricultural and Fisheries Council agenda, the mayor backed key measures such as:
- One agricultural scholarship for each barangay (Cuayan, Cutud, Sapalibutad, Sapangbato) to support students pursuing BS Agriculture at schools like PSAU;
- The accreditation of the CARISUCOS Angeles City Farmers Association with DA Region III; and
- The revolving funds for the Enhanced KADIWA Bangus Program.
