Mayor Pogi, Cong Jon break ground for new school buildings in Angeles City

The Lazatin brothers, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. and Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II, on August 3, 2023 led the groundbreaking ceremony of the soon-to-rise buildings in three (3) schools in Angeles City.

Groundbreaking rites were held for a two-storey, four-classroom  building at Mining Elementary School (MES), another two-storey, four-classroom building at EPZA Resettlement Elementary School (ERES) and a four-storey, sixteen-room building at Angeles City National High School (ACNHS) in Barangay Pampang.

The construction of the new school buildings were funded by the DepEd Basic Education Facilities Fund.  

Mayor Pogi and Congressman Jon were joined by Vice Mayor Ma. Vicenta ‘Vicky” Vega-Cabigting, Barangay Mining Captain Lester Hernandez, Department of Education – Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ronaldo Pozon, DepEd Angeles City Assistant SDS Fernandina Otchengco, and MES Principal Elvira Guina during the groundbreaking ceremony. 

The Lazatin brothers were joined during the groundbreaking rites by Vice Mayor Ma. Vicenta ‘Vicky” Vega-Cabigting, Cong. Jon’s Chief-of-Staff Janie Sarmiento, Department of Education – Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ronaldo Pozon, DepEd Angeles City Assistant SDS Fernandina Otchengco, MES Principal Elvira GuinaERES Principal Helen Juguilon, ACNHS Principal Cazarina David,  Barangay Mining Captain Lester Hernandez, Barangay Pampang Captain Lydon De Luna during the groundbreaking ceremony. 

One of the promises of Mayor Lazatin is to continue to provide quality and accessible education, saying “No Angeleño youth will be left behind in terms of education.”
