During the flag raising rites held at Barangay Day on Monday, April 1, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., who was guest of honor, expressed his excitement to be of service to the Mabalaquenians.
“Kung nanu pu ing gewa ning kanakung pengari — Congressman Tarzan — at ning kanakung kaputul — Congressman Jon — isundu ku pu,” Lazatin said.
Lazatin’s father, Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin, is known as the “Father of Mabalacat City,” having pushed for the bill that effected Mabalacat’s cityhood during his time as Representative of the First District of Pampanga.
Tarzan Lazatin authored Republic Act No. 10164, An Act Converting The Municipality Of Mabalacat In The Province Of Pampanga Into A Component City To Be Known As Mabalacat City, which was approved on June 15, 2012.
Last March 9, Lazatin sent personal donations of rice to the Muslim community in Mabalacat City who are commemorating Ramadan.
Meanwhile, on March 23, Lazatin also sent personal donations of juices and biscuits to all barangays of Mabalacat City, in time for the Pabasa of Holy Week 2024.
Barangay Dau Captain Glen Derreck Dee expressed gratitude for Lazatin’s generosity and committed his support.
