Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on June 5, 2023 inspects the hogline of the modern, double A-rated Angeles City Slaughterhouse, the first automated and humane slaughterhouse in Angeles City is accredited by the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS).
The slaughterhouse is equipped with an automated poultry dressing plant, a wastewater treatment facility, and its very own ice plant.
The environment-friendly slaughterhouse can process 4,000 to 5,000 chickens per hour; 700 to 1,000 hogs per 12-hour operation; and 100 to 200 cattle and carabaos per 12-hour operation.
The new facility, taking into account the ‘humane’ treatment, employs a strategy where animals are stunned prior processing.
